President’s Report February 2020

What is your vision? Having a clear concise goal in life is a vision. It gives you direction of where to want to be. Vision gives you purpose. So why is vision so important? I think it is important to have hopes and dreams for our future. Vision doesn’t tell you how you are going to get there, but it is the beginning of a plan. As a member of NAHU I see our vision for the organization is a delicate balance. It is constantly evolving because of regulation, legislation and policy changes. Plans change, people change. As an agent I have come to the realization that change in our industry is the only constant. It is more important than ever to become involved to make sure you have a vision.

Right now I am in DC with 36 MAHU members. We are currently in leadership meetings and meeting with the entire Michigan congressional delegation. We are letting our legislators know we have a vision and we speak with one voice. We are sharing client stories, challenges in our industry and ask for bipartisan support on legislation. We are making progress for you. We want your support too; come to a meeting, volunteer on a committee, recruit a non-member, and donate to HUPAC .

A Japanese proverb says,” Vision without action is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare” NAHU vision is your vision with help from your action. Join today and volunteer!
