DIFS issues bulletins in response to COVID-19 pandemic

The Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial services has been issuing bulletins for producers across all lines giving additional flexibility during this pandemic. Bulletin 2020-16 encourages carriers to work with their insured customers around premiums, payment schedules, and coverages so that those experiencing financial hardship can maintain their coverage.

Other DIFS bulletins such as 2020-15 allow for temporary licenses for producers who meet basic requirements but cannot complete the licensing exam due to the pandemic and 2020-17 that modifies the timelines for regulatory filings for carriers.
